Woodlands Camp Out

Woodlands (Grades K - 5) will be camping 2x this year, once in Fall and once in Spring.

We have our first camp out scheduled for September 29th at Crow Hassan Park

Woodlands Fall 2023 Campout!

When: 5.31.24 - 6.2.24

- You can arrive starting at 3:30 pm. We’ll have an opening ceremony and dinner at 5:45pm

- We’ll depart Sunday prior to lunch

Woodlands checklist for packing (encourage your boys to help with packing!)

Bring: (Please be sure to have your name on all of your gear)

  •        Bible – we will be doing a sword drill…

  •        Sleeping bag, sleeping pad, blankets(s), pillow

  •        Tent (remember your ground cloth)

  •        Camp chair / folding chair

  •        Headlamp/Flashlight - kids love these!

  •        Appropriate closed-toe footwear – ideally something water resistant for wet grass (Trail Life USA requires footwear to be closed toe.  No sandals!)  

  •        Hat

  •        Weather appropriate clothing plus a change of clothes

  •        Jacket – for rain or warmth depending on weather forecast 

  •        Toiletries

  •        Water bottle/Insulated coffee cup

  •        Bug Spray (Deet or Permethrin based)

  •        Binoculars (if you have, not required)

  •        A favorite yard game/ball to share (football, soccer ball, Frisbee, kickball)

  •        First Aid kit (if you have one)

  •        Tick removal key (if you have one)

  •        Sunscreen (depending on time of year)

  •     We are allowing trailmen to bring their foam swords. (if you have extra please bring for new trailmen)

Do NOT Bring:       Electronics – cell phones, tablets, Ipods, etc.

MENU: Food provided.  For your planning ahead for varying dietary needs (and likes/dislikes!)...

  • Friday Dinner: Walking tacos - various chips with taco fixings (beef, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce, olives, onions, salsa, etc.

  • Friday Fireside: Smores (Marshmallows/Fudge Strip Cookies), Apples, Carrots

  • Saturday Breakfast: Coffee, Orange Juice, Tortillas + eggs in a bag (eggs, onions, peppers, cheese, salt/pepper), oatmeal packets (alternative for non-egg eaters)

  • Saturday Lunch: deli meat sandwhiches

  • Saturday Dinner: Salad Kits + Canned Chicken (left-over individual bags of chips), Hot dog (1.5 per registrant)  over fire, carrot sticks (2 x 1 lb bag)

  • Sunday Breakfast - Nav Ads preparing breakfast for the troop

  • Exit Snack: Left-over apples, Granola/Cereal bars
